What this policy covers

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it — which pages are popular, how people find us, and that kind of thing. We don't use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any other kind of non-essential cookie.

Your choice

The first time you visit, you'll see a banner asking whether you're happy for us to use Google Analytics. Nothing is set until you choose:

Accept — Google Analytics starts running, and we can see anonymised visit statistics.

Decline — Google Analytics never loads, and no cookies from it are set.

You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data for this site, which will show the banner again on your next visit.

What Google Analytics does

If you accept, Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies in your browser (typically named things like _ga and ga*) so it can recognise repeat visits and put together aggregate statistics — for example, how many people visited a page, or roughly where in the world visitors are from. We've switched on IP anonymisation, so Google doesn't store your full IP address against this data.

We don't use Google Analytics to identify you personally, and we don't combine it with any other data we hold about you (such as your account or booking details).

Google processes this data according to its own privacy policy, which you can read at policies.google.com/privacy. Google Analytics data is typically retained for a limited period before being automatically deleted — see Google's own documentation for current retention periods, as these are set by Google rather than by us.

Essential cookies

Separately from Analytics, the site uses one essential cookie to keep you logged in if you create a My Account login, and to keep your session working if you're partway through a course booking. This isn't optional and isn't covered by the banner, in the same way a shopping basket needs a cookie to remember what's in it — without it, the site simply wouldn't work. We don't ask for consent for this one because it's strictly necessary to provide the service you've asked for, which is allowed under UK cookie law (PECR).

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if what we use cookies for changes — for example, if we add anything beyond Google Analytics in future. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
